My name is Eve, my passion is dogs. It’s as simple as that.

Since I was a child I have been obsessed with animals. A dog was always the top of my wish-list, walking to school in the morning was a chance to pet everything that passed by on four legs, and the amount of dog encyclopaedias I owned could have sunk a small ship. As much as I loved my childhood pets (rabbits, stick insects and goldfish) they couldn’t quite fill the void in my life that was quite clearly dog shaped.

When I was little and I first heard the term ‘rescue dog’ I thought it was a dog that had saved someone from drowning, or a house fire – an innocent thought. As a child I wasn’t aware of the cruelty people could inflict on animals, I would never have guessed that years later helping dogs would actually become my line of work.

At present I am currently the Rehoming Manager for Wild at Heart Foundation, a young charity that aims to compassionately reduce the 600 million stray dog population across the world. In the past three years I’ve co-ordinated the rehoming of almost 700 dogs. Aside from this, I aim to educate with my writing and raise awareness about situations that might not have adequate coverage. I also want to challenge perspectives and drive for change to improve animal welfare standards.

So if you’re a fan of harsh truths, interesting topics and muddy paws, I hope you enjoy my blog.
